The equinoctial week?
Origin and Online Memorial Service

"Ohigan" is the period when our world and Buddha's world overlap. Twice every year, the week before and after the vernal and autumnal equinoxes is called ``ohigan'. By holding a memorial service for the deceased, it is an important time to acquire the ideal behavior as a Buddhist called "Rokuharamitsu" and to realize that oneself is also a Buddha.

お彼岸

The autumn equinox season has arrived again this year. Ohigan is the period when the distance between Higan, the world of Buddha, and Shigan, our world, is the closest. Let's pray together at this time when we can feel closer to the world of Buddha where there are loved ones who have passed away.

リモートで供養する

From 2020, Byodo-ji Temple has started a remote equinox memorial service. You can share your prayer time through the screen. If you would like to pray for, hold a memorial service for, or worship someone important to you in this way, please apply.

供養のあり方

The period of the memorial service in 2022 is one week. From September 20th, every day at 6:00 a.m. morning service, 4:00 p.m. evening service, and 8:00 p.m. memorial service, we will read aloud and hold a memorial service until September 26th.
