Byodoko is held to commemorate the 1250th anniversary of the birth of Kobo Daishi. Learn how to pray at the Buddhist altar and how to pray on the Shikoku pilgrimage. Professor Masayoshi Morisaki of Koyasan University will be invited to the venue to explain and practice Buddhist services along with Shinryo Taniguchi, the chief priest of Shikoku Sacred Site No. 22 Fudasho. In the morning session, we first explain the meaning of the sutras to be chanted, and then practice how to actually chant them. In the afternoon, the troupe's memorial service will be held. Let's offer a prayer of gratitude to Kobo Daishi Kukai. At the end, there was a round-table discussion by Mr. Morisaki and the chief priest. While talking about the theme, we will ask for questions and opinions from all of you, and it will be a time for interaction. We will bring Gyo Daishi, so please try sand stepping. After all, we are planning a get-together with Mr. Morisaki. If you can spare your time, please join us. January 2023 Byodo-ji Temple Chief Priest Mayo Taniguchi
