From Byōdō-ji Temple, the 22nd sacred site of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage, we will solemnly perform and live-stream "Shō-Hassen-Maiku," the most rigorous ascetic practice in Shingon Buddhism.
Shō-Hassen-Maiku is called the "Dharma of Complete Fulfillment of All Wishes," a life-risking secret ritual.
The practitioner undergoes three weeks of purification, strict dietary restrictions, fasting, and water abstinence, culminating on the final day with over eight hours of chanting Fudō Myōō's mantras while burning eight thousand prayer sticks.
Its merit has been revered since ancient times for its miraculous efficacy in cancer prevention, healing of illness, leg and back health, eye disease recovery, finding good relationships, academic success, and dispelling misfortune.
Byōdō-ji's Shō-Hassen-Maiku is not merely "warding off" or "dispelling" misfortune, but completely annihilating misfortune itself through Fudō Myōō's wisdom fire.
Let us take new steps together toward the future, freed from all misfortune.
This dharma assembly allows remote participation via YouTube, Twitch, and Niconico Live.
Those from distant places can join in prayer from home.

We accept online applications for prayers and memorial services.
All amulets and blessed items are handcrafted with care by the head priest and staff, blessed during the ceremony, and delivered to you.
The "Vajrapāṇi Light Abhiṣeka Sūtra Supreme Mudrā Sacred Immovable Honored One Great威怒 King Recitation Ritual Dharma" (Rituin-gi) states:
"If one performs goma with eight thousand offerings as the limit, all wishes of the heart will be fulfilled"
Based on this scripture, Shō-Hassen-Maiku has been revered since ancient times as "the dharma that surely grants all sought wishes."
Please entrust your wishes to this ascetic practice, performed only once a year and rarely conducted nationwide.
Byōdō-ji's head priest, Taniguchi Shinryō, will deliver them with heartfelt devotion to our principal Buddha Yakushi Nyorai and Fudō Myōō.
