What is the Yakushi Fire Ritual?
From Byōdō-ji Temple, the 22nd sacred site of the Shikoku Pilgrimage Route and a Koyasan Shingon Buddhist temple, we deliver a live broadcast of the Yakushi Nyorai fire ritual ceremony every Sunday. The ritual is performed according to the traditional practices of the Chūin School, which is commonly practiced at Koyasan.
Yakushi Rurikō Nyorai is also called the "Great Healing Buddha" and, through twelve great vows, relieves sentient beings of the suffering of illness and grants peace of mind and body.
