The sake rice variety called shimenawamugi apparently grows to around 140cm, which is truly tall. It hasn't reached 140cm yet, but it's already so tall it looks like it might get buried 🌱

Today is the day we harvest the green rice paddies for sake brewing. We finally reap the rice we have cultivated since sowing the seeds.

Starting today, the water for the rice paddies is on a rotation schedule. Since we share the irrigation canal with our neighbors, we take turns bringing water in. It hasn't rained at all since the rainy season ended, so we're all sharing the water while we grow our rice. 🌾 I really hope the plants can somehow endure this heat!!
