Rice harvest for shimenawa making and dinner at Emoto
As part of Byodoji Temple’s 2026 From-Rice-Field Shimenawa Project, we will harvest rice for use in sacred straw ropes. Work begins early in the morning.

On September 12, 2026, we will harvest rice for Byodoji Temple’s shimenawa making. Work begins at 5:00 and is scheduled to finish around 15:00.
Participation is 1,000 yen, including insurance, breakfast, and lunch.
A dinner gathering will be held at Emoto in the evening. Meet at Byodoji Temple at 17:30 for the shuttle bus. Dinner begins at 18:00 and costs 7,500 yen.
