About the Eleven-Faced Kannon Fire Ritual

From Byodoji Temple, the 22nd sacred site of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage and a Koyasan Shingon Buddhist temple, we deliver a live stream of the Eleven-Faced Kannon fire ritual every 18th of the month (Kannon Bodhisattva's sacred day). The ceremony is conducted according to the traditional Chuin-ryu practices commonly performed at Mount Koya.

Eleven-Faced Kannon is one of the manifestations of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, possessing eleven faces to save all sentient beings.

"I now speak this to benefit and bring peace to all sentient beings, to eliminate all diseases, to destroy all evil, to stop all inauspiciousness, to prevent all nightmares, and to ward off all untimely deaths" ─From the 'Eleven-Faced Divine Mantra Heart Sutra'

Entrust your prayers to the flames of the fire ritual and receive the protection of Eleven-Faced Kannon. You can participate in worship together with us even through the screen.
